Update on ASUU strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike will soon be called off which was revealed through the information given by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige in Onitsha, Anambra state while speaking to some reporters.

He made mention that certain funds had been provided by the Government to meet most of the demand of he union. Moreover, there will be meeting this Friday in order to debate on when lectures should resume.

According to Ngige, the issues that made ASUU to embarknon the strike we’re based on an agreement which the union entered into with the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan which the administration failed to implement before President Muhammadu Buhari took over power.
